SHELBY JUDGE- VALLEJO HIGH SCHOOL

Tell everyone about yourself?
Yo wassup SoSportz here's the 411 on Dream Team Jay. Well the names Shelby Judge aka Dream Team or King Jay. I am from Oakland,CA. I am 6'3 and growing taller everyday, and I am about 204lbs all muscle. I previously attended Oakland Technical HS but now I attend Vallejo HS. I play all sports but I love basketball, football, volleyball, & track.

What are your pre-game rituals?
My pre-game rituals are listening to music with my team, we pray, get loud to get our energy up, we like to have little dance-offs, then huddle up, make sure we're on the same page, discuss what we have to do, and what little antics we might do on the court to get the crowd in the game. I like to play a Lil Wayne or Drake to get pumped and I like having my childhood cover in my bag.

What professional athlete would you say you pattern your game behind and why?
I tend to play like Lebron because he is my favorite player and even though he is the best he still works to get better.

Besides sports, what are other hobbies that you enjoy?
I love to cook, to eat, dancing, music, and hanging with friends. I love school just as much as sports so I put my all into school just like sports too.

If you could meet anybody, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
It would be a dream of mind to meet Lebron or John Wall because their the best at what they do and meeting them would inspire me even more to be the best at what I do.

What are your plans for life after sports?
Hopefully after my successful sports career, I hope to buy my moms a jazz restaurant and be the chef there because it has always been a dream of hers to have one.

Hello world! I'm Robert Jones and I'm 13 years old with my birthday coming up on March 29th. I'm from Louisville, Kentucky and I'm in the 8th grade attending Lassiter Middle School. I'm 5'9. I play for the basketball team there too. I played high school for Valley high. Junior Varsity and Freshman. I play AAU For The Truth 14u. I also played football for Valley Vikings Youth League. I played mostly every position you can think of but my main position is Quarterback. I'm attending Fairdale High School next year so be on the look out for that.

What was your best game?
I'm gonna have to go way back to my 5th grade year. I ended up with 23 points and hit 4 three's that game. Also in my first Junior Varsity game as an 8th grader this year, I came in and put up 10 points. The freshman game before that I had about 25 points and sent the game into overtime. Football had so many really good games. First game of the season I had 4 touchdowns which consist of three interceptions and scored off of all three of them. I also had a 5 yard run at the fullback position. In the middle school basketball league I scored 20 or a little more against Noe Middle and Conway.

Why are sports/education important to you?
My education is the MAIN thing in my life. I just use sports as a tool. I'm a honor roll student and been one since I started school. I have a 3.9 Gpa. I'm going to keep up the good work to.

What can you do to make yourself better in your sport?
Something I can do to make myself better in basketball is to be a gym rat. Stay in the gym 24/7. Push myself as hard as I can everyday. I played high school basketball as a 8th grader so that helped me alot to become a better ball player. I can better myself in football by lifting weights to get stronger. I need to get a great work ethic so I can succeed.

What is your dream college?
My dream college is the University of Louisville. I was raised here and I couldn't possibly play anywhere else. I love Rick Pitino.

If a College Coach ask you, how can you make our team better, what would you say?
Playing GOOD DEFENSE! I was told plenty of times that defense wins Championships.

What advice can you give other student-athletes?

ALLSWELL OPUSUNJU- MCKINLEY HIGH SCHOOL

Tell everyone about yourself?
I am currently a sophomore recently injured, cracked ankle joint, on October 2009 at the Glen Oaks game. I Love football and will do whatever it takes to get to the next level.

What was your best game?
Donaldsonville, it's when I had my first reception. It was an ugly pass and I adjusted in the air to make the catch. After I caught it, I got stamped in the air.

Why are sports/education important to you?
School comes first. I have to get my grades straight if I plan on getting to the next level. I am ranked 58/305 in my class and my GPA is a 3.1 for my entire 2 years of high school.

What can you do to make yourself better in your sport?
I work hard. Sometimes I cry because I work so hard and don't get far but that just tells me I'm not going hard enough so I push myself even more. I need to work on my footwork. I know I might not be the tallest slot receiver, so I'm going to need quicker feet and I need to be able to move quick like a running back. My dad kicked me off the football team and I feel that he doesn't think I can make it. I took that and used it as motivation so I played in that game against Glen Oaks, hiding, coming home from games late, and sneaking in the house. One Friday night, I came back with a cracked ankle and that shows not only you that's reading this but everyone else that I will not give up no matter who tells me I'm too small or I'm not good enough.

What is your dream college?
My dream college would be TCU. It's not that far from home and I would be honored to where purple.

If a College Coach ask you, how can you make our team better, what would you say?
I would definitely bring leadership to the table and will improve the defensive backs position because I will go 101 percent. I would also make the team bond more, become one body, play as one body, one mind, and one Team.

What advice can you give other student-athletes?
Stay humble and love what you do. From my perspective don't let anyone tell you you can't make it. Just have faith and keep believing because GOD has a plan for you.
