Corieon Pearson has a big year for Union University

                             


SoSportz College Athlete and Union University junior guard Corieon Pearson was named to theNational Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Men's Basketball All-American team. He was also a First Team All-Region player and the NCCAA MidEast Player of the Year. Pearson helped lead Union to the NCCAA MidEast Region title and a fifth place finish in the NCCAA National Tournament.

Pearson, a 6-foot-2 guard who attended Ridgeway High School in Memphis, Tennessee, led Union in scoring with 17.9 points per game on the season. In the three games during the national tournament, Pearson averaged 22 points per game. He lead Union to a 2-1 tournament record. Their only loss was a 2-point decision to the eventual national champion, Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.).
