What is a Game Changer?

SoSportz.com- What is a Game Changer?  A Game Changer is someone who makes a difference in a positive way in their field. Whether it's an athlete, businessman/woman, teacher, movie star, entrepreneur, student, or any other occupation.  Let's all aim to be Game Changers in whatever we do. Below are just a few Game Changers in their respective fields:

Michael Jordan- Arguably the best basketball player to ever play the game. He changed the way the game was played. To be so athletic and also fundamentally sound, Jordan was a player that every kid wanted to be like. He also changed the game off the court with his Jordan Brand.  From his shoes, apparel, team ownerships, and endorsement deals, Jordan is a household name around the world and will continue to be for years to come.

Mark Zuckerberg- The founder of Facebook revolutionized the way we communicate with friends, family, co-workers, etc. Coming up with the concept in his dorm room, Zuckerberg has taken over the social media world and will continue to generate new ideas to expand Facebook.

Oprah Winfrey- As Oprah always says "A little black girl from a small town in Mississippi".  Coming from where she did nobody would have ever thought that she would be where she is today. She has inspired so many people during her 25 years on the Oprah Winfrey Show and continues to inspire on her own network, OWN. A true Game Changer in television, there will not be to many people that will be able to duplicate the things she has done.

Bill Belichick- The Head Coach for the New England Patriots is one of the best coaches of all-time.  His knowledge of the game is like no other. In the 2000's he has lead the Patriots to 5 Super Bowl appearances with 3 Super Bowl victories.  He will definitely have a Hall of Fame bust in Canton, Ohio when his coaching career is over.

Katie Kraft- She's the 2012-2013 State President for the Maryland State Society Children of the American Revolution and has been a member of C.A.R. for 16 years and an active member for 14 years. The C.A.R. is a children’s organization focusing on leadership and community service. She has been a Girl Scout for 12 years and is currently working on her Gold Award Project (an 80-hour project which is the Girl Scout equivalent of the Boy Scout Eagle Scout Award). Katie also serves her church and community in many ways. Katie's state president's project is to raise funds for the "Message from the Heart" program through the Jonathan Collins Foundation. Through this program, children of military parents are given, free of charge, a Build-A-Bear with a voice recording of their parent inside. The recordings are made by their parents before the parents deploy. After the parents deploy the children go to Build-A-Bear, pick out a bear and an outfit and have the voice recording put inside. This way, the child can always have their parent with them. Check out Kids Are Heroes.

Texidor to Laurel, Maryland?

                                                                                    How has your summer been?
Tomas Texidor is working hard to fulfill his dream.
It's been alright. The reason I say alright is because I haven't been to any camps at all, just tournaments. I'm grinding though, so I'll be at a few or plenty next Summer, no doubt about that. My game is improving quickly, and I've grown into a better, and mature person off the court.

What part of your game have you been working on the most?
I've really been working on playing more aggressive being with the position's that I play (Point Guard/Shooting Guard). Also, making better passes, and making sure they're 100% accurate.

What schools are you looking to attend?
Well, I leave August 11th to Laurel, Maryland to check out the schools down there, workout, and meet new people. Hopefully, I find the right school that's perfect for me, and that'll help my dream that I'm working hard to fulfill.

Aquille Carr is a dynamic player, what about his game makes him such a great player?
From my point of view, the thing that makes him such a great player is how confident he is on the court. He plays aggressive, and he's never afraid to takeover the game. He just has a big heart, at a small size. I feel watching him play could help my game in a major way, espescially because we are the same height right now.

The Olympic teams have so many great players, which player inspires you?
Chris Paul, definetley. He's quick with the ball, throws flashy passes, and can shoot the ball when he feels the need to. Everyone on the USA Olympic team are great players of course, but he's the one who impresses me the most because he doesn't rush anything, he takes his time, and see's the floor very well.

What are your goals both athletically and academically?
My goals athletically is to become a better player, go all out my Sophmore year, and just give scouts and everyone else spectating my game something to talk about and stay watching my game for a while. My goals academically are to make Honor-Roll every term, and to stay focused on my school work. You can't get anywhere in life without good grades, so those are a must.

Any closing remarks:
I would like to give a shoutout to my uncle, Brett Givens, the one who is trying to make everything possible out there in Laurel, Maryland. Without him, none of this would be possible, so I just want to say thank you, and I love you. And I can't forget SoSportz! Shoutout to them for taking the time to interview me to see where I'm headed.
