University of Memphis quarterback Paxton Lynch has emerged as a top
pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. (Daily News/Andrew J. Breig)
Paxton Lynch has turned the University of Memphis program around this season and along the way has become the best quarterback in the country. At 6'7 and 245-pounds, NFL scouts are drooling over him and some believe that he's a franchise quarterback in the league. He has the arm, the running ability, the leadership skills, and he performs on the big stage. Against Ole Miss the country got an opportunity to see him dominate by passing for 384 yards and three touchdowns. After that game he received a lot of hype and media attention which could have meant a letdown in the next week against Tulsa. Lynch was unfazed by all of the attention. He had a career game against Tulsa on national television throwing for 447 yards with four touchdowns.
Still only a junior, Lynch will have to make a decision on whether or not to enter the 2016 NFL Draft. It should be a no brainer because his stock will not get any higher than it is now and he could possibly lose his head coach Justin Fuente to a bigger school. There is still a long season left to go and he just needs to continue to be who has been the entire season. If he can stay consistent and keep putting up the big numbers, Paxton Lynch will be walking across the stage next year to shake Roger Goodell's hand as a top pick in the draft.
