SoSportz.com- A hall of fame career ends in devastation. Joe Paterno was fired by Penn State after the scandal with Jerry Sandusky came back to light. What will the sidelines of the Nittany Lions look like now? How will the program bounce back from this huge distraction? Football is Paterno's life and without the game, there will be a huge void in his life going forward. It's sad that his career had to end like this.

SoSportz.com- It was hyped up as the game of the century, the showdown, the best game ever. Alabama vs. LSU lived up to the hype and did not disappoint. There were future NFL players all over the field that were making big hits, catching great passes, running the ball with authority, and so much more. LSU came away with a 9-6 overtime victory over Alabama with a made field goal by Junior kicker Drew Alleman.
LSU put themselves in a great position to play for the National Championship. The SEC has won the last five championships and is clearly the best conference in the country. There next three games are against Western Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Arkansas. University of Arkansas is playing some great football right now and presents the biggest challenge. Can LSU finish the season strong and hold up the championship trophy on January 9, 2012 in the Louisiana Super Dome?
SoSportz.com- Week in and week out Cam Newton's performance has been filled with highlights. He's throwing the ball long to Steve Smith, he's running the ball like a running back, and his elusiveness has been out of this world. There were so many people doubting him before he came to the NFL because of his off the field issues and concerns about his ability to play in a pro-style offense. He has shut all the doubters up and is having a sensational year. Even though the Carolina Panthers have a 2-6 record, they have to be happy with the play of their quarterback and the future of the organization with Newton leading them. They are in a tough conference in the NFC South with teams like the New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The season is at the halfway mark and Newton will continue to play great football. In a few years, the Panthers will be a team everyone is talking about.
SoSportz.com- Derrick Rose is one of the best in the game and has become a superstar on the court. With the release of adizero Rose 2, Rose is also trying to make some noise in the sneaker game. I don't think anyone will be able to compete with Jordan off the court but I think Rose is heading in the right direction.

SoSportz.com- A lockout means one thing, MONEY. With the owners and players battling over several issues including the biggest issue which is the revenue split, I was thinking the players could make more money if they started their own league. To keep in game shape and to continue to play the game they love, NBA players have been playing in charity and exhibition games across the country. The games have been a big success. Crowds are filling the stadiums and the players are treating them like regular season games. With amazing dunks, crossovers, and buzzer beaters, the fans are getting their monies worth. Think about this: If the players started their own league, they would get the ticket sales, apparel sales, media deals, etc. All the money would go to them. There is no NBA without the product(players) so the product can branch out on their own and start their own league. What do you think? What would be the name of the league?
