JAVON PERKINS- JOHN F. KENNEDY HIGH SCHOOL

Tell everyone about yourself?
My name is Javon Perkins and I attend John F. Kennedy High School. I am a very humble basketball player who has a passion for the game.

What was your best game?
My best game was a AAU game at the AAU Super Showcase in Florida. I had 25 on a Nike team from Georgia.

Why are sports/education important to you?
Sports and education are so important to me because I fell in love with basketball and I wanna supply a better life for my family and this is the only way I feel I can make that happen.

What can you do to make yourself better in your sport?
I can make myself better by pushing myself everyday and staying focused. I need to also know what my goal is and believing in it.

What is your dream college?
My dream college is University of Louisville because I feel Rick Pitino is an excellent coach. His coaching style is the way I like to play and I like the way he treats his players.

If a College Coach ask you, how can you make our team better, what would you say?
I would tell the college coach that you're getting a player who is going to go hard and push everyone around him. You're getting a winner, someone who is going to do what it takes to win, and a player who can handle the pressure. I will get it done in the clutch.

What advice can you give other student-athletes?
Always keep their heads up and don't ever let anyone tell you what you can and can't do.

ROBERT JONES- LASSITER MIDDLE SCHOOL

Tell everyone about yourself?
Hello world! I'm Robert Jones and I'm 13 years old with my birthday coming up on March 29th. I'm from Louisville, Kentucky and I'm in the 8th grade attending Lassiter Middle School. I'm 5'9. I play for the basketball team there too. I played high school for Valley high. Junior Varsity and Freshman. I play AAU For The Truth 14u. I also played football for Valley Vikings Youth League. I played mostly every position you can think of but my main position is Quarterback. I'm attending Fairdale High School next year so be on the look out for that.

What was your best game?
I'm gonna have to go way back to my 5th grade year. I ended up with 23 points and hit 4 three's that game. Also in my first Junior Varsity game as an 8th grader this year, I came in and put up 10 points. The freshman game before that I had about 25 points and sent the game into overtime. Football had so many really good games. First game of the season I had 4 touchdowns which consist of three interceptions and scored off of all three of them. I also had a 5 yard run at the fullback position. In the middle school basketball league I scored 20 or a little more against Noe Middle and Conway.

Why are sports/education important to you?
My education is the MAIN thing in my life. I just use sports as a tool. I'm a honor roll student and been one since I started school. I have a 3.9 Gpa. I'm going to keep up the good work to.

What can you do to make yourself better in your sport?
Something I can do to make myself better in basketball is to be a gym rat. Stay in the gym 24/7. Push myself as hard as I can everyday. I played high school basketball as a 8th grader so that helped me alot to become a better ball player. I can better myself in football by lifting weights to get stronger. I need to get a great work ethic so I can succeed.

What is your dream college?
My dream college is the University of Louisville. I was raised here and I couldn't possibly play anywhere else. I love Rick Pitino.

If a College Coach ask you, how can you make our team better, what would you say?
Playing GOOD DEFENSE! I was told plenty of times that defense wins Championships.

What advice can you give other student-athletes?
Give sports your all. Remember to use sports as a tool. Get your education first! That's what it's all about.

JOHN OYLER- PLEASURE RIDGE PARK HIGH SCHOOL

Tell everyone about yourself?
I am John Oyler, I'm 14 years old, and I'm from Louisville, KY. I am 6'2 and I play aau basketball for the Louisville Legends 14u and play aau baseball for the Louisville Samurai 14u.

What was your best game?
My best game would have to be in 08 aau basketball nationals 12u when I had 30 pts to go along with 6 three pointers against Rising Stars JG Gold. Or maybe in 2010 when I had 6 first half three pointers in the Indy Gardens aau tourney against Speice Gym Rats only to later to finish with 28 points. Those were critical games I might add.

Why are sports/education important to you?
Sports are my life. I have a sports activity everyday. I push myself so hard when it comes to them. I have a 3.8 gpa and I have achieved great goals in both for my life but I know I have to keep working hard in both to make it to next level too.

What can you do to make yourself better in your sport?
I just need to keep working hard at my game in basketball and baseball. I need to keep basically playing these sports that I love all the time as usual.

What is your dream college?
My dream college would probably be Louisville. I grew up a Louisville fan, it is close to home, has good academics, and very good basketball and baseball teams.

If a College Coach ask you, how can you make our team better, what would you say?
I will go 110% all the time. You can always count on me to "knock down a shot", get a hit, or throw a strikeout in big time games.

What advice can you give other student-athletes?
My advice to student-athletes is to never give up, always go your hardest, and just have confidence in your sport.
